Spring has sprung.  This sparks a little spring cleaning. Green cleaning, of course. Conventional cleaners contain a variety of toxic chemicals that can harm your family's health. It just doesn't make sense to use potentially harmful cleaners when they're easy to avoid.

Quick TIP:  Reduce waste whenever possible
Look at the disposable items you go through, and make a change. Water bottles. Napkins. Coffee cups. Cardboard boxes. Shopping bags.  These are just a few examples of things that people casually throw away without giving any thought.  Reusing items is a very important way of keeping unnecessary garbage out of the waste stream. There are many steps you can take to get the most out of the items you already have. Mostly, it takes an awareness and thoughtfulness about the things you throw away.
For example, use a durable bottle instead of plastic water bottles, a coffee mug instead of Styrofoam cups, a knife instead of plastic stirring straws  and cloth napkins and cloth towels instead of paper napkins and paper towels
.

You can make a difference!

TAKE THE NO PLASTIC PLEDGE

Please stop using plastic bags and bottles - use cloth and clean canteens instead!

North Pacific Gyre

The North Pacific Gyre is an area more than twice the size of Texas in the Pacific Ocean densely filled with plastic. The ratio of plastic to plankton is six to one in the Gyre and is an urgent matter for the health of our planet and each other.  Watch the video below to learn more..
